04.06.2019

The Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom plans to design and produce more clothes for young people and open a showroom in Minsk to display the novelties of the Belarusian light industry, Chairwoman of Bellegprom Concern Tatyana Lugina said in an interview to the STV channel, BelTA has learned.

According to Tatyana Lugina, the sector can boast highly-qualified specialists: both technologists and sewers, as well as a good designing school, which can secure the production of high-quality goods. However, the interaction with marketing services is still underdeveloped, and there is a lack of understanding of the demand on the market and consumers’ expectations. “We need to work hard in this direction. We need to understand to whom and how we are going to sell our product,” she said.

According to Tatyana Lugina, the goods selling system has recently changed, shifting gradually to a wide spreading of network, online sales. Belarusian companies need to be ready for new realities, develop online stores independently or offer products on Bellegprom’s online platform. One of the currently widely-discussed ideas is the organization of a showroom in the Belarusian capital to display all the organizations of the concern.

Among the major tasks for the head of Bellegprom Concern Tatyana Lugina named the enhancement of efficiency of all the key companies of the sector and the revision of the assortment. “We often discuss economic criteria such as profitability, sales, profit. They all are based on such foundations as the assortment and the product portfolio policy strategy. We want to see our people wearing our products. We will do our best to increase the interest in the Belarusian clothes, especially from the youth,” she said.

Speaking about second-hand shops and individual entrepreneurs, the chairperson of the concern stated that this area needs additional regulation.
